Profile
James Hopes has been an excellent find for the Australian team in the past few years. The all-rounder is a useful batsman down the order while he has the ability to chip in quick wickets with his medium-pacers. Hopes has been a regular member of the Aussie one-day team and has impressed one and all with some terrific performances, particularly with the ball.
The Queenslander varies his pace excellently and also has the capability to bowl quick when it is required. James is also capable of hitting some lusty blows lower down the order. The short-stature Australian works hard on his fitness and is surely aiming for a Test spot in near future.
An injury to Shane Watson brought Hopes in and he gracefully filled in the empty spot of an all-rounder. With the return of his former Queensland team-mate Watson, Hopes and Watson usually bowl in tandem in the middle overs and are a key asset to the side in keeping the run-flow down and providing vital breakthroughs.
