Dhoni injures knee during practice session

Vadodara: Indian skipper, Mahendra Singh Dhoni took a blow on his left knee on Friday while batting in the nets against paceman Munaf Patel.

The incident that took place during Team India’s extensive practice session at the Reliance Stadium, rendered Dhoni unable to continue with the training and had to leave the session mid-way.

Though the blow was a pretty hard one and Dhoni was seen with a protective gear on the damaged knee, he is hopeful to be fit for the Sunday’s match against Australia.

“I got hit while batting against Munaf. I should be alright by tomorrow (Saturday), but have to wait and see how it feels in the morning,” the Indian captain said.

If his injury turns out to be a serious one, India will be in for a huge trouble, as there is no reserve wicket-keeper in the Indian squad for the first two ODIs.
