Sehwag undergoes surgery

Mumbai: The opening batsman, Virender Sehwag has successfully undergone surgery on his right shoulder in a hospital in Nottingham on Thursday.

The surgery was performed by Dr. Angus Wallace at Park Hospital in Nottingham. Dr. Wallace is a surgeon with a specialization in shoulder surgery and sports injuries.

Sehwag has stayed back in Nottingham for post-operative recovery treatment, while the India team returned to London on Thursday morning. Soon after his recovery treatment, Sehwag is expected to return to London from where he will board the flight to India.

On the other hand, Dinesh Karthik has been cleared by the ICC Technical Committee as Sehwag’s replacement. He is expected to leave for England soon after he receives his player’s visa document.
