India vs SL Board XI: Indians start off steadily

Colombo: Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid resumed the Indian innings after the first session’s play was washed out due to rain. Carrying on from the overnight score of 4/1, Dravid was run out by Fernando on 5.

Sachin Tendulkar walked in to accompany Sehwag who was batting brilliantly at the other end.

Earlier on Day one, India started their warm up game in style. After winning the toss and electing to bat, the Board XI lost both their openers.

Both Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma got the openers early; first Ishant got rid off Mahela Udawatte one of the many lefthanded opening batsmen from Sri Lanka in the sixth over for 7.

Chamara Silva and Thilina Kandamby offered stiff resistance adding 68 and 84 runs respectively.

However Kumble came back for his second spell and ran through the lower order, getting rid of Kaushal Silva, Dammika Prasad and Seekkuge Prasanna for single figures. From 212/6 the Sri Lankan Board were bundled out for 224.
