Well-built, quick and unfazed by the batsman's reputation, Zaheer Khan announced his arrival in world cricket with his performances at the ICC Champions Trophy in 2000. The left-arm seamer struggled to establish himself as a new-ball bowler in his initial days, but now is at the forefront of a new pace generation.

Although injuries have troubled him for a considerable part of his career, Zaheer has always hit back with performances in county cricket. He has lost some pace from his earlier days but his yorkers are still as deadly. He swings the ball both ways off the wicket and also has the ability to swing the old ball which makes him an important component of both, the ODI and Test sides.

Zaheer Khan played a major part in India's Test series victories in England and West Indies. After Kapil Dev and Srinath, many have looked at Zaheer to carry the Indian pace attack to a new height.
