Australia has found an ideal replacement in wicketkeeper Brad Haddin after the retirement of the great Adam Gilchrist. For many years, Haddin had to play second fiddle to 'Gilly'. Since his debut in 2001, the New South Wales skipper did well in the few opportunities that he got and has developed into one of the finest and consistent wicketkeeping batsmen.

Haddin believes in dominating the opposition and likes to keep the run flow ticking. The right-hander has perfect batting technique to tackle the spinners which he displayed in the 2007 tour of India. The 30-year old scored two remarkable half-centuries on the tour which were instrumental in his team's win. Haddin is also very sharp with his skills behind the stumps and he recently displayed those skills in the matches against Pakistan and the Kiwis, taking some outstanding catches diving wide on either sides.

The team Down Under has had a long history of great wicketkeepers like Rodney Marsh, Ian Healy and Gilchrist. Haddin had a huge responsibility on his shoulders to live up to this reputation, and with his counter attack approach, the stumper has managed to attract admirers. His aggressive batting style has also allowed Australia to experiment and Haddin also opened in the shorter formats of the game. He has also captained Australia in a couple of International T20 matches.
