Stuart Broad is a young fast bowler with plenty of potential and calibre in him. Cricket runs through the veins of young Stuart as he is the son of former English cricketer, Chris Broad. He caught everyone's attention in the one-day games first by putting up splendid performances with both bat and ball.

Broad is 6 feet 7 inches tall and is capable of generating bounce with good pace from the wicket. The youngster is capable of bowling marathon spells and picking up wickets at regular intervals. His worst nightmare came at the ICC World Twenty20 2007 where Yuvraj Singh smashed him for a maximum of 36 runs in one over; all six balls he bowled were smashed over the fence for sixes.

Broad has the prospect of becoming a useful all-rounder as he is very handy with the bat down the order. The southpaw has done exceptionally well in the absence of senior players like Flintoff, Hoggard and Harmison to secure a regular spot in the English team. He really came of age during the 2008 New Zealand tour where he scalped 8 wickets in two Test matches to power his nation to victory in the Test series. His performances with the willow also became evident in that series and he proved that he can put a price on his wicket.

In early 2009, he was named Man of the Series for the tour against West Indies where he picked up wickets at a consistent pace and contributed, in decent measure, with the bat as well. He remained over-shadowed in the first two Ashes Tests against Australia in 2009.
