Stylish, flamboyant but mature, Australian Michael Clarke represents all those terms at its best. Termed as the future Australian skipper, Clarke represents a new era in Australian cricket. The youngster made a stunning start to his Test career by hitting a ton on a crumbling Indian wicket and against the likes of Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh. A great shot-maker and a cool temperament, 'Pup' is regarded a good player of spin bowling. He was temporarily dropped from the national side in 2005 but he made a stunning comeback by scoring consecutive tons in the 2006-07 Ashes. Being athletic and sharp, Clarke is an exciting prospect to watch on the field. His accurate throws and amazing catches are great additions to his talent. Michael is also very effective with his slow-left armers and has a 6-wicket haul in a Test innings against his name. The stylish New South Wales batsman has already tasted plenty of success with the Aussie team, having won the 2007 Cricket World Cup and retaining the Ashes in 2007. After Adam Gilchrist retired, he was named the vice-captain of the team.
