Australia suffered their fifth consecutive loss today when they lost to New Zealand by six wickets at Melbourne.
They had also lost to New Zealand by two wickets at Perth and to South Africa in three consecutive matches before that. This is only the sixth time in their ODI history that Australia have lost five matches in a row. One more loss and Australia will equal their worst run.
