Cricketers, especially a batsman needs to alter his skills for Twenty 20 more than anyone else (bowler or a fielder). They are the face of cricket hence they needed to be persevered and taken care of.
A batsman takes more time to adjust and acclimatize to various conditions than a bowler, and now there are three different formats of the game, so they need to learn it fast and learn it well. I am sure a batsman will be able to adjust sooner than later, but till then we will not see many high scoring totals in Twenty 20 games.

The IPL tournament started with a bang with some fabulous performance by some overseas players. In the middle of the tournament these players had to leave and represent their country in a Test series. It will be interesting to see how these players particularly batsmen adapt to the longer version of the game. If they are able to do that, then ODI games will be the first format to bear its fruits.
A one day game is played over 50 overs a side, here a batsman is able to use both his Twenty 20 skills and Test match temperament to a greater affect and then perhaps we would see some high scoring totals in a ODI gameā€¦.
