Yes or No?

The former India captain has never really won India a Test match. Except for his 98 at Kandy against Lanka.

Is he the master of drawn Tests? He performs only when the pitches are flat. Do you ever remember him scoring when there has been green patches on the pitch?

Maybe Brisbane 2003-04 but he batted primarily on day two when it was easier to bat.

Can anybody counter my point? I doubt it.

You are on spot, mate. But century is a century,. Well, how many centuries of Sachin has won the game for India? Any stat available?

BTW, I am not a Ganguly fan. In fact I am not a fan of any player. I am an ardent fan of the game, per se.

No No. But if you see the stats it is clear that he is the master of drawn Tests. Prove me wrong.

Check today's Times of India for Sachin facts.. u'll be amazed how much the little fella had done for Indian cricket. He has more centuries outside home then on home soil.

Soil not matter. Cause matters. Very simple.

I dont think so.. What if Ganguly had not scored centuries in those drawn Tests..?? India would have lost match from there.. And since when has the result of one Test match being decided of a Test match just cause of one batsman. and not that Ganguly was busy attempting for a draw and the others were trying for a win..May be ponting was right here.. India takes a draw with equal pride as a win..

Who scored the gutsy 87 against south Africa in d 3rd test when all the other greats failed????Who hit crucial 50s in India's first test victory in South Africa???Who was the standout performer with the bat when India won the away test series against England???Who set the tone for India in the last away series against Australia???Whoever started such a stupid debate, I have pity on you. Its coz of some dumb heads like you that the great tiger has called it a day this early.

Cricket is a team game and not an individual sport.

1. His 87 against SA was great - no doubt.
2. India won in Jo'berg bcoz of the bowlers and the openers
3. India won in India becz of Karthik and Jaffer's opening stands. And Zaheer's bowling.
4. What tone are you talking about against Australia?
5. Ganguly is not a 'great' Test match batsman. Period. He is one of the greatest-ever in ODI cricket but won't feature in even the TOP 50 in Test cricket.

Let me tell you that this topic is an absurd one on the face of it.You should have checked your facts before posting a topic like this.Cricket lovers, who aren't fanatics, would definitely agree that Ganguly hadn't only contributed to drawn tests. He has in excess of 7,000 test runs which is itself a testimony to the fact that these runs had been scored under different circumstances which had resulted in both victories and draws.Who could forget his back-to-back hundreds on debut, his audacious knocks against the Aussies Down Under, his match saving hundred against the Kiwis with Dravid as his partner, the fighting knocks against the Proteas in South Africa, his match winning knocks against the Proteas at home and his stellar show against Pakistan? And let me tell you that even saving a test requires lots of skills which doesn't come easily.Even the legendary Waugh brothers,Michael Artherton and many others have contributed in saving tests for their respective countries. Can they be clubbed likewise? It's a laughable comment.Even Tendulkar had said that Ganguly's been an inspiration. So dear friend, you have got it terribly wrong.
