India secured their first Series win in New Zealand since 1968 on Tuesday after drawing the third Test. Rain may have prevented the tourists thrashing the home side, but the draw was all they needed for the historic 1-0 series win.

This Indian team is certainly on the rise – having won Test Series in England, New Zealand, West Indies, Pakistan, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh in the last five years or so. Only Sri Lanka, Australia and South Africa remain to be conquered by the Indians.

India’s clichéd ‘Kings at Home’ and ‘Lambs Away’ remarks can be put to rest, officially now. They are certainly a team that can go neck-to-neck against any opposition in any conditions in the world.

Also, the Indians have not lost a Test match since losing to Sri Lanka in their own den last August. That is truly an incredible run for Dhoni and Co.

Here is your opportunity to congratulate Team India on their golden run!!

This is truly India's best performance abroad in a long time - at least since England in 2007. The bowlers won us the series and it was mainly Harbhajan and Zak. Both were stupendous. Congrats Team India!

A high profile series ended in 'damp squib'. Could have ended better.

While all kudos to Team India, Dhoni should have declared with a lead of 500 in the second innings in the third test.

Somewhere, the element of 'over cautiousness' and 'unwilling to take the bull by the horn' is still persisting with Team India.

A Ponting or a Smith would have dealt with the situation in a different way. Thats why those teams are where they are.

Perhaps if we got total 100 overs then no one would complain.. or if Ishant would take the catch..

dropping a catch is a part of ckt.I don't say dat it's gud,bt still it happens at BAD LUCK.

V also got 94.3 overs....no guarentee dat v could have got 2 wkts in 5.3 overs....Vettori was looking gud defensive n even O'Brien got 19 runs 4m 17 balls.

not 10-12 overs.It was 26 overs after getting 500 lead.....26 more overs were enough 2 all-out d kiwis.

As a thirteen year old I followed our first overseas victory achieved against Kiwis in 1967 under Pataudi's captaincy and I was very happy then and the performance of players like Wadekar, Surti (most underrated cricketer who later settled in Australia), Prasanna and Bedi were superb. After that eventhough we toured many times we could not achieve a series victory there and therefore this win after 41 years is really great and makes every Indian cricket fan really proud. Congrats to Dhoni and his men.
