Rahul Dravid has just played the last innings of his career.

Expect to hear an announcement by the end of the day.

Good for him, if he does it else he might have to face embarrasment.

Forum guys / gals..........comment........~

But we need to win the next matcg. Chennai match is heading for a draw. Ton win the series we need to win the next match. How is Dravid going to help this cause. If he does not retire today, Dhoni might drop Dravid for the next test.

Hence it is ideal Dravid 'calls it a day', a the end of this test.

I have lost all respect for Dravid. The selectors and Dravid himself knew very well that he needed to take a break from international cricket and work on his form in domestic cricket. Instead he selfishly has put the team repeatedly in a bad position for the past two years. Quite a few of the losses in that period can be attributed to his selfishness in not taking a break.

We could have easily lost the Chennai test too. Fortunately, luck and grit from Tendulkar and Yuvraj saves us.

What blows my mind is why the selectors are so afraid of him. It is a great crime to Indian cricket that Dravid has been allowed to block the progress of promising youngsters who have been waiting in the wing for their chances. Now, the BCCI has given him another Grade-A contract for next year!

Dravid, you have become a selfish punk who is hurting the team and Indian cricket. Announce your retirement gracefully immediately or you will lose the respect of even your most ardent fans.

Hey let us give him break in criticizing. We cannot forget his contribution for many wins. He seem to be in some mental block at present and let us give him more time to organize himself to come good for another couple of years where we need his experience, and guidance for youngsters.
Ideal example is the guidance given by Sachin to Yuvraj to build up his innings in the recent historical win. He also helped Sewag in Pakistan to restrict himself to score triple century, first Indian batsman to do that.

Let us leave Dravid alone to think of his problems and come out of it.

I am for leaving Dravid alone as long as he leaves the team alone and retires or takes a break. Yes, he has contributed a lot in the past. But don't forget he has been amply rewarded for that. What he has been doing for the past two years is selfish. He wanted to hang and hurt the team in the process. If he has "mental block" as you say it, shouln't he be seeing a shrink and playing domestic cricket to take care of it? Why hurt the team in crucial intenational matches? Well, to guide the youngsters, one does not have to be playing. They can very well do the guiding on the sidelines. Friend, we cann't let players get away with past performance excuse and stink up the place for two plus years especially when promising youngster are being blocked.

I would suggest rahul not to go the nets and would tell him to relax and take it easy,so that he can get his concentration back...but i feel he works too hard at practice...

Now, come on selectors this is not fair to Ganguly, who was doing a lot better than Dravid. Playing Dravid is an pure insult to Ganguly. Dravid now is even a wrost feilder, than what Ganguly used to be. At least Ganguly took the catches. Dravid drops more 1-3 catches in EVERY test match now. And he has not even scored any runs in a period of more than 2 years !! You dropped Ganguly because he only had 7,000 runs and you will not drop Dravid because he has 10,000 runs. What the hell is this all about ?? You Indian people are obsessed with records, let me remind you that records are for HISTORY books !! Records will not scored runs for you, you have to score runs yourself. You selectors will screw up the future of Indian cricket because of your obsession for records.

Give some1 like C. Pujara or Badrinath a chance , let some1 be our hero of the future !!!

the wall has withstood a lot of battering in the past and in the process has helped in sreeanghtening the team and has rescued India in many a situations in the past. At this juncture it is not fair to criticise him but console him and give him the most needed moral support so that he takes a break and comes back as a reinforced wall shortly. Ravish

"you Indians" phrase was meant for the selectors who have played for the Indian team before, it was NOT meant for us as the Indian citizens.

'Past............Past.............Past........Past'.........we know to live ONLY in the 'past'. We fail to see the 'present' and lose out on the 'future' also.......!

Strange is our nature........!
