Profile

Tatenda Taibu is a Zimbabwe cricketer, who is also a wicket keeper, and has captained his team in the past. A diminutive looking batsman, he can stun a lot of people with the power of his shots. Sometimes, he also bowls off-spinners and has played for Namibia and the Cape Cobras, apart from his local first class. His talent was never in doubt, and this was only accentuated by the faith that the selectors showed in him by making him the vice-captain on the tour to England when he was only 19. After the resignation of Heath Streak as the captain, he was elected as the captain. However, with the problems of mismanagement reaching its pinnacle, he was forced to resign and then flee from the country following death threats. Later he returned back to South Africa, and decided to play for four years of first class cricket there to try and qualify for the National Team, but for some strange reason, returned back to his home country, Zimbabwe, to play international cricket under the captaincy of Hamilton Masakadza.

Later he was selected by the Kolkata Knight Riders to play in the first season of the Indian Premier League.
