Chris Gayle is a soft-spoken but a hard-hitting opening batsman from Jamaica who holds the capability to tear apart any attack in the world. He played in his first senior tour in 2000 against England and since then has been feared by bowlers all over the world.

Tall and imposing at the crease, Gayle's attacking approach is his greatest weapon. Gayle has a typical no-holds-barred playing style which makes him as successful as he is. He also dishes non-turning off spin which has seen him blossom into a genuine one-day all-rounder.

Growing in stature quickly, he has become a consistently prolific scorer in the ODIs. One of his best innings so far is his thumping 317 runs in a Test match at Antigua against South Africa. One also needs to mention that Gayle is the first cricketer to score a century in the Twenty20 format of the game. Possessing good leadership skills, he led West Indies to an ODI series win in England and their first Test win in South Africa.
