Nuwan Kulasekara is a lively fast-medium bowler from Sri Lanka. He started his career as a softball enthusiast before he altered his focus and moved to to cricket, joining Negegoda Cricket Club and then Galle Cricket Club. He made an impact in his debut match in 2003, with his genuine pace and the ability to reverse swing the ball.
The youngster is also good at maintaining a good, accurate line and length. A maiden test fifty against England at Lord's in 2006 showed his natural batting abilities in the lower order. After some inconsistent performances in 2006, he was dropped from the team, but his hard-work witnessed him reclaiming his place in the national side in 2007.
Although, he has worked hard on his action and added an extra yard of pace, he secured a place in Sri Lanka's World Cup squad. Predominantly viewed as a one-day specialist now.
