Profile
Chris Martin is a tall and lean fast-medium bowler from Christchurch. He is known for his nagging consistency and is one of the few New Zealand Test cricketers to have taken 100 wickets. Martin is also famous for his lack of ability to bat and is one of a select group of cricketers whose statistics of wickets taken is much more than runs scored. The start to his international career was impressive as he scalped quick wickets at the top order. The Christchurch pacer is an angular fast-medium bowler and has the ability to swing the ball vigorously. He is also very effective with the old ball as he possesses the quality to reverse swing the ball. The slight-built seamer hogged the limelight when he picked up an 11-wicket haul in the Test match as he ran through the South African batting line-up.
Martin has done the job of spearheading the Kiwi pace attack magnificently in recent times and his ability to take wickets in a heap with the new ball makes him a valuable asset for New Zealand.
