Pak call up Irfan, shafiq to replace suspended trio

Pakistan have called up Asad Shafiq and Mohammad Irfan into the ODI and Twenty20 squad in England to replace the suspended trio of Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Aamer.

"Both the players are currently playing with the Pakistan A team in Sri Lanka and will now join the senior team by next week," a Pakistan Cricket Board official said on Friday.

While this is the maiden international call-up for lanky left-arm fast bowler Irfan, Shafiq made his ODI debut in the Asia Cup, against Sri Lanka.

Pakistan Test captain Butt and opening bowlers Aamer and Asif face possible life bans after they were charged on Thursday under the International Cricket Council's ( ICC) anti-corruption code.
