New Delhi: As if grappling with injuries was not enough for Australian captain Ricky Ponting, he arrived with his boys for a practice session at Kotla on Friday morning only to find that the practice pitches were soggy.

The Aussie team was scheduled to practice at Kotla from 10 am to 1.30 pm, but when they arrived at the stadium they were shocked to see a watered practice pitches. Ponting was shocked to see the wickets were completely soggy and in no condition to be used.

"I was disappointed when I had a look at the practice wicket which has been watered this morning. Everyone in the world except the groundsmen knew we were coming for training and when we came it was completely unusable. By the time Indian team will arrive for practice session, the wickets will be fine and it’s a disadvantage for us," Ponting said.

With the seven-game series leveled at 1-1, Australia will take on India in the third ODI on Saturday.
