Jaipur: Australian coach Tim Nielsen believes rookie legspinner Bryce McGain has got the right ingredients, in terms of experience and a fresh body, to succeed in India.

At 36-years old, McGain has been included in the Australian squad for the first time for the tour of India. Though he made his first-class debut for Victoria more than seven seasons ago, he has only played 19 first-class games and has spent most of the time playing club cricket in Victoria.

Speaking about the prospects of McGain succeeding in India and putting pressure on the famed Indian batting line up, Australian coach Tim Nielsen said, "It's not a bad mix for a spinner. They tend to be under a fair bit of pressure over here, the way the Indians play them they tend to put a lot of pressure on them from the outset, try to attack them pretty hard."

“So that mix of a bit of experience to cope with that pressure but also the younger body as such will hold him in good stead,” he added, indicating McGain could trouble the Indians in the forthcoming Test series.
