Canberra: Australian captain Ricky Ponting has said Cricket Australia (CA) will continue to monitor the situation in India, in the aftermath of the bomb blasts last weekend which left over 30 dead and several others injured.

Ponting was quoted by AAP as saying, "Anything could happen tomorrow, things change very quickly in the world right at the moment."

"Cricket Australia will continue to be in touch and the government will continue to be in touch and Cricket Australia will keep us players and the players association in the loop on a daily, if not hourly basis."

The Australian captain also said he hadn't heard any players express concerns about traveling to India. He said, "As a group we haven't been together.

"I'm not sure if Cricket Australia have fielded any calls from individual players or families but that wouldn't be unusual if that was the case."

Despite the bomb blasts in the Indian capital, Cricket Australia on Tuesday confirmed that the tour would go on as per schedule. CA said it had upgraded security around the team hotel and had organised for extra security for its team while travelling to the ground from the hotel. CA further said that the advise to the players was to exercise restraint while stepping out of the hotel, and that nothing had changed since the tour details had been finalised to mandate calling off the tour.
