Karachi: Pakistan cricket officials were anxiously waiting for the issuance of visas for their players before announcing the 15-man squad for T20 tournament in Canada, sources said Monday.
"There is a difficult situation that has developed, as the Canadian High Commission has refused to give more than 15 visas and once they clear 15 of some 25 passports, only then the team will be announced," a source confirmed to cricketnirvana.com.
The Pakistan Cricket Board in anticipation to the lack of time between the domestic T20 -- a trial for selection -- and four-nation T20 in Canada sent as many as 25 passports to the Canadian HC.
However their plans went awry after the Canadian HC told them in clear terms that they will not entertain more than 15 visas.
"So the unique situation is this that after 15 players are given visa, the team will be announced."
