Hyderabad: Krishnamachari Srikkanth, the chairman of selectors was full of praise for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who got a century each on day one of the four-day tie against the visiting Australians on Thursday.
Srikkanth and his team of selectors were here to witness the four-day tie, and the selection committee seems to be impressed with what they saw on Thursday. Srikkanth told CNN-IBN, "I'm very happy that the youngsters are doing well. All of us selectors were here and it's good to see the youngsters playing well.
"Rohit [Sharma] played brilliantly, Virat Kohli also played really well, and it's good to see them getting used to good exposure of playing against the mighty Australians. I was very impressed with the Board President's XI and I think we have very good youngsters. We appear to have a very good bench strength," Srikkanth added.
Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli made 105 each and rescued the Board President's XI from a precarious situation, who were reeling at 120 for 4 at one stage, but went on to finish the day at a solid 371 for 6.
