Hyderabad: Australian opener Phil Jaques has said he is excited and is looking forward to the Test series against India.

The 29-year old Jaques has said he will feed off his experience of playing against the Indians when the toured Australia earlier this year, and then use the Indian crowds to motive himself to perform.

He told the Herald Sun, "I had never played against those guys (India) before. It was good to get some experience against them."

"Obviously they know their conditions very well over here but I am really excited. I do know their general shapes (of deliveries) and what they do. It's just a matter of getting used to the conditions here."

The left-handed opener is also hoping he can bring the experience of playing for Northamptonshire in the county circuit, where the wickets were slow like in the sub-continent. He said, "I have also had a season with Northamptonshire where we had really big-spinning wickets that didn't bounce either, which are very similar to what we've found so far."

Sounding confident, he said the slow and low wickets matched his style of play. He said, ""I think they suit my game. I am also really looking forward to the crowds. They are so enthusiastic and energetic and so excited about cricket. It's great to be out there."
