Bangalore: Bangalore will remain the host for the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the four-Test series between India and Australia, despite an ATP Tennis event which the city was scheduled to host being called off in the light of security fears following the serial bomb blasts that rocked the city last month.

"There is no change in the itinerary. Bangalore will host the first Test," said Indian cricket board secretary Niranjan Shah.

India's four-match series against world champions Australia opens in Bangalore from October 9-13.

The remaining Tests will be played in Mohali, New Delhi and Nagpur.

Bangalore, which was scheduled to host the Bangalore Open was suspended by the ATP due to the local promoter’s security concerns. A statement released by the ATP read, “The ATP board can confirm that it has regrettably accepted a petition from the Bangalore Open to suspend the 2008 event due to the local promoter's security concerns," the statement said.
