Through the off-side

God of the off side, Sourav Ganguly was perhaps the first Indian captain who could stare back at the Aussies. He led India to one of the most fascinating Test victories of all time when India humbled Australia at the Eden Gardens and went on to win the series.

He not only excelled as a batsman (Wisden rated him as sixth greatest ODI batsmen), but also built a team that could win Test matches outside India.
