Legend Speak

Like most South Africans, Clive Rice’s heydays clashed with the Apartheid though he became the first captain post isolation and led the Proteas against India in 1992. In a first-class career spanning over four decades, Rice averaged 40.95 with the bat and 22.49 with the ball, which showed his immense allround talent. It’s sad that his international career lasted for only three ODIs.
